Viktorija Golubic is looking to build on her impressive recent form, having won four of her last five matches while also surpassing 200 career victories on clay.
During our interview in Parma, Golubic told me she credits her variety and unconventional skill set to the influence of Swiss legends Stan Wawrinka and Roger Federer. However, in Paris, she is now rewriting her own storyline.
The Swiss player has reached the third round of the French Open for the first time in her career after defeating Panna Udvardy in straight sets and overcoming hard-hitting American Alycia Parks.
Golubic has yet to drop a set in France, and after winning 82% of her first-serve points in her last match, she is proving to be an extremely difficult opponent to break down. With her intelligent shot selection and all court creativity, the Swiss veteran continues to showcase why she remains such a dangerous and competitor on clay.
