Yastremska makes Parma Quarterfinal

At the Parma Open, Dayana Yastremska powered her way into the quarterfinals with an impressive straight sets victory over Hanne Vandewinkel, winning 6-3, 6-2.

Yastremska’s explosive forehand proved to be the difference throughout the match as she constantly dictated play from the baseline and kept Vandewinkel under pressure. The Ukrainian star played aggressive first strike tennis and showed confidence on the clay courts in Parma.

She converted 6 of 14 break point opportunities while continuing to attack on return games and force errors from her opponent. Vandewinkel showed flashes of her versatile clay court game, but Yastremska’s pace and power were too much to handle over the course of the match.

The victory sends Yastremska into her first quarterfinal appearance of the season as she looks to build momentum and capture the Parma title.
