Solana Sierra reached the third round of the French Open for the first time in her career, upsetting Jasmine Paolini 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 while winning 72% of her first-serve points and converting 4 of 9 break points. Fans in Argentina will not be crying tonight.

Speaking with Solana Sierra, she mentioned the disappointment of her loss to Coco Gauff in Rome, but expressed that competing in big matches against the best players will only help improve her game.

She smiled when I reminded her how great she is on clay, having reached the 2022 French Open Girls’ Final, Sierra is a clay legend in Argentina.

After making the semifinal in Parma, it’s clear Solana Sierra is firing on all cylinders. If she continues to display her aggressive ball-striking, she will continue rewriting her own history book.
